The historic circular kiln building is staged as a total work of art. The installation spans three levels of the building. On the facade, red and blue connecting veins wind through empty window openings. The fire chamber in the basement channels its red light into the round firing chamber on the first floor. The rising heat is captured in lava flows made of rubber and fiery red lava forms.
The circular kiln leads to the second floor, transforming into a blue sky space. Through openings in the floor, red beams of light shine into the blue room, and standing on an air stream from a fan, one can ascend through the chimney into the real sky. On both levels, extraordinary telescopes stand, revealing both reality and fiction. Through them, one can observe the surroundings of Zell and the sky… and suddenly, a volcano erupts, lava flows, and through the clouds, a plane appears while bells ring. The sun becomes part of the installation, igniting a fire in the late afternoon that transforms into a lava stream.
Connections are created between elements, the cosmos, and love… between fire and sky, shifting and unpredictable—just like in real life. The visitor, through their senses, creates their own reality.
